Paypal integration for Quick Books Online
Hi, I really feel that a much and badly needed feature, is a direct Paypal integration
It could be built into QBO core - or it could be a OneSaas integration. I believe Xero has this built into its core.
It would be absolutely brilliant for heavy Paypal users. The app would bring all payments and receipts into a Clearing account (one for each currency used) and then the QBO/WooCommerce (for example) integration would be able to MATCH what IT brought in from sales against those clearing accounts items and then you can decide how to treat the remaining items in the clearing accounts (such as bank transfers, expenses etc)
No more struggling with trying to reconcile Paypal and no more manual importing CSV files either (surely this should be "old school" in today's day and age).
The app would obviously need to separate Paypal fees so gross sales receipts match the eCommerce channel (eg WooCommerce) sales.
There is currently an app called "Accept Payments with Paypal" which is a bit limp-wristed as it stops short of being able to place sales receipts into the correct sales ledger accounts based on the product name which it could easily get from Paypal. So you have to go into every single sale and categorise the sale correctly. It has annoying quirks too. But what it DOES do which is a start at least, is integrate direct with Paypal and do it DOES segregate Paypal fees and it DOES recognise multiple currencies (note - at present if you try to rely on Bank Feeds in QBO it will lump transactions in all currencies together as if they are all AUD).
Note that if you are using that app you cannot use a OneSaas eCommerce integration as you will end up with duplicate sales. So currently you would need to decide whether to use Accept Payments with Paypal app and not use OneSaas/WooCommerce or use the latter and not the former.
Hoping that I am articulating the need for a Direct Paypal integration app clearly!
Thoughts anyone?
