Push completed order status to Magento

Can there be a feature where once an order is completed this information is passed back to magento and the order status in magento is changed to 'Complete' at present to do this you have to go into each individual order in magento and go through magento's process to make this happen which is time consuming. In a previous product we used that worked with the desktop version of Quickbooks this was possible and saved much time, it would be a very useful feature.
